    $5,000 Sign On Bonus for offers accepted by June 30, 2024. Terms and Conditions applyThe Ophthalmic Technician Specialist works up patients for physicians that includes taking medical history, performing initial examination and completing diagnostic testing.

    Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
    Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification at least at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) level.

    Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
    CPR Must obtain Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT) within 18 months of hire

    Experience REQUIRED:
    Two (2) years of experience performing initial ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic testing

    PREFERRED:
    Four (4) years of experience in academic medical environment preferred

    Education/training REQUIRED:
    High School Diploma / GEDEducation/training


    PREFERRED:
    Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or related field.
    Independent action(s) required:Takes medical history, performs initial examination and diagnostic testing independently.
