- Leads a team of individual contributors with varying skillsets and responsibilities that help develop and own the operational plan and overall strategy for the M&E division, focusing on 1 to 3 years out.
- Provides input on the long term forecast for M&E that balances demand and capacity and support efforts to coordinate with key stakeholders (including Network Operations Control (NOC) and network planning) on a strategic roadmap to ensure that M&E has the right mix of personnel, qualifications, tooling, parts, and workspace to achieve organizational objectives.
- Co-owns and improves resource planning model to help evaluate schedules, inform bid process, and determine optimal locations for technician growth.
- Responsible for establishing regular communications and touchpoints that ensure M&E leadership and relevant stakeholders have visibility to overall strategy, and to coordinate actions required to meet plan objectives.
- Influences across M&E and coordinates efforts to ensure successful planning and execution for special projects, including engineering efforts requiring heavy vendors, commercial/marketing initiatives, aircraft modifications, and aircraft lease returns.
- Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning.
- Leverage technology to enhance department performance and productivity.
- 5 years of maintenance planning, workforce planning, finance, strategy, or related technical operations experience.
- 2 years of direct leadership experience or experience leading project teams.
- A Bachelor's degree with a focus in business, aviation management, economics, engineering, business intelligence, or finance, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to alternate between strategic, tactical, and operational priorities while working on projects and to quickly determine long, medium and short term impact of proposed solutions and goals.
- Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to execute on multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is key.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders (both internal and external to Alaska) that drive mutually beneficial outcomes.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Working knowledge of airline Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations.
- Proficient with systems used in aviation maintenance (similar to TRAX, Vismaint, Tableau, etc.).
- 3 years of project management and/or continuous improvement experience.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal (both informal working teams and formal executive presentations), and in clear/concise written documents.

The Manager of Maintenance Planning is responsible for creating and executing the operational plan strategy for the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) Division.
This role leads and establishes priorities for the team and partners with Network, Finance, and M&E stakeholders to develop a cogent strategy that consistently delivers safety and compliance while optimizing M&E resources to achieve corporate objectives.
Key DutiesRequired

$113,200 - $169,800 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
