    Duties


    • Evaluate diagnoses and treat the full range of patients with disorders described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
    • Participate in and, as assigned oversees program education, process improvement functions and various managed care processes.
    • Provide training and supervision of mental health providers and assist in the management of their complex cases.
    • Prepare briefings and articulately delivers them to leadership.
    • Participate in care conferences and provide input for planning treatment programs to assure patient and family return to optimal health and wellness.
    • Maintain paper and electronic medical records on patients during tour of duty including data entry and retrieval
    Requirements Conditions of Employment


    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
    A background investigation and credit check are required.


    • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
    • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing
    Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.


    • Immunization screening is required
    Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
    Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.


    • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
    Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.


    • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
    • This position has been designated "Mission Essential"

    In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.


    • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315

    Basic Requirement for Psychologist Position:
    Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.

    or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology
    In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

    Specialized Experience:
    One year of specialized experience which includes administering and interpreting psychological tests; evaluating effectiveness of programs; and conducting therapeutic interventions
    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify
    For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted

    License:

    The Psychologist position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.
