    VulcanForms Inc. seeks an Optical Engineer for our Devens, MA location.

    As an

    Optical Test Engineer

    at our VulcanForms, Inc.,

    Devens, MA

    , location, your main objective will be to help our Optical team build and test high power beam delivery systems for the world's most productive and advanced metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) systems. This role is will work on our OMS and optic boxes. This role will play a key part in analyzing and testing results within our optical team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Conduct high-power optical testing with precision and analyze data to extract valuable insights.

    Set up and configure optical test equipment, including lasers, optical power meters, and optical metrology equipment.

    Build and align opto-mechanical and laser systems, taking them from bench-level to fully functional designs.

    Develop test methodologies and analysis tools to automate testing routines.

    Spearhead the development of new process capabilities, including conducting Design of Experiments (DOE).

    Lead problem diagnosis efforts and implement corrective actions.

    Collaborate with the design teams to incorporate test results into improved designs.

    Qualifications

    4+ years of experience with engineering responsibilities, including experiment execution, experiment design and setup

    Proven experience working with High Power Laser Systems

    Proficiency with industry standard tools and methods for laser, photonic, and electro-optical systems engineering.

    Experience working in class 1000 cleanrooms, knowledge of cleanroom protocols

    Preferred

    Competence with execution of optical testing protocols

    Experience in designing and fabricating test fixtures or communicating fixturing requirements for test

    Experience automating test setups, specifically automating linear stages and data acquisition

    Experience with automation in languages such as LabView, Python, MATLAB, R
