    We are seeking a skilled Substation Protection and Control Engineer to join a growing team at one of the top Engineering consulting firms in the US.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, and implementing protection and control systems for electrical substations. This role requires a strong understanding of power system protection principles, relay coordination, and control schemes.


    Responsibilities:
    Design protection and control schemes for electrical substations based on client requirements, industry standards, and project specifications.
    Develop relay settings and coordination studies to ensure proper operation and reliability of protection systems.
    Perform detailed engineering calculations and analysis to assess system performance under normal and abnormal operating conditions.
    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure successful project execution.
    Prepare technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports.
    Conduct site visits and inspections to verify system installations and troubleshoot issues as needed.
    Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices in substation protection and control engineering.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in substation protection and control engineering.

    Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for relay coordination, such as ETAP or ASPEN.Strong knowledge of protection relay principles, including differential, distance, and overcurrent protection.

    Experience with substation automation and communication protocols (e.g., IEC Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., IEEE, ANSI, NERC).Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

    Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment and interact with clients.
    Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
