    COMPENSATION: Negotiated (Based on Master's Degree for Internship)

    The School Psychologist Apprentice/Intern (SPA) is in their third year of their graduate school psychologist program, and they are a skilled sta? member who performs the duties of a school psychologist with supervision from the highly skilled/trained staff at OVS. Minimum commitment is one academic year.

    Job Description and Essential Job Functions:
    • Regular, reliable and punctual attendance and on-campus work is required.
    • Actively participate in building/district Child Study Team meetings
    • Utilize research based models, theories, assessments, and processes to support students with an array of disabilities through the MTSS process.
    • Administer and report results of various standardized assessments.
    • Actively participate in pre-referral activities and interventions utilizing research based intervention strategies.
    • Collaborating and assist in developing of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP)
    • Perform systematic observations of students for the purpose of special education evaluations and FBA/PBSP.
    • Organize, upload, and file protocols (physically or electronically) and other evaluation documents for the School Psychologist.
    • Complete all required paperwork relating to Invitations, REED's, MET's, Eligibility Recommendations and more as it pertains to their specific role and responsibilities.
    • Coordinate and schedule parent and team meetings.
    • Ability to work effectively with grade level/department/interdisciplinary teams, etc.
    • Utilize best practices and tools to assist in determining eligibility recommendations for students who are being evaluated for services.
    • Communicating, consulting, and collaborating with all stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, outside agencies, and itinerant staff) to develop plans that support student learning and success.
    • Perform updates on Family/Developmental histories for student reevaluations
    • Assist School Psychologists in the compilation of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) report by adding in observations, parent/teacher input, tables and graphs, and other data as prescribed by the School Psychologist into the report.
    • Participate in local and county communities of practice to enhance professional connection and practice.
    • Must follow all state and district curricula and assessment requirements.
    • Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, procedures, administrative guidelines and district processes/regulations.
    • Perform duties as assigned by the supervising school psychologist, special education supervisor or special education director.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Meet Eligibility for Preliminary School Psychologist Certificate through Michigan Department of Education
    • Pass a criminal background check.
