    EducationBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related fieldExperienceThree years of relevant experience in accounting performing financial analysis or governmental financial reporting; some positions in this class may require specialized experience in area of assignmentCertifications/Licenses/Special RequirementsA valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functionsCPA (Certified Public Accountant) and/or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferredPreferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications (PQs) are used to identify relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) as determined by business necessity.

    The following are the preferred qualifications:

    Experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Governmental Standards Board (GASB) procurements in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.

    Experienceutilizing accounting software such as Oracle E-Business Suite Applications to record financial transactions.

    Experience using advanced excel such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and logical formulas in compiling and analyzing data to provide financial information to management and stakeholders.

    Experience analyzing and applying contractual requirements related to Federal, State, and local grants and funding sources.
    Experience preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, statements of cash flows, or other financial reports.
    Experience in payroll accounting such as payroll processing, filing quarterly payroll tax returns, W-2 reconciliations, and/or year-end filings.
