    Job Requirements:

    Under the direct supervision of the Radiologist, Director of Imaging Services, and Department Manager the lead Mammographer delivers diagnostic testing to patients of all age groups. The technologist utilizes radiographic equipment and technique to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs mammography and other related imaging and procedures (needle localization, bone density, aspiration biopsy and stereotactic biopsy to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Performs the Quality Control functions required to comply with MQSA guidelines. The Lead Mammographer is responsible for the productive use of manpower in the center and maintaining par supply levels in that area. This individual will assist in competency testing and orientation of staff assigned at the Center and will oversee the Accreditation process for ACR and MQSA.
