    Position Summary


    The Director of Investment Operations is expected to work closely with the Managing Director, Investment Operations, and Senior Investment Operations Analyst in executing day-to-day operational activities for the office.

    The Director of Investment Operations is responsible for accounting, valuation and performance reporting, portfolio analytics, information and documentation control, operational risk management, and asset allocation support.

    Perform advanced investment analytics and develop Investment Committee materials.

    Serve as the liaison between the investment and operations teams through the investment manager implementation process, providing status updates to leadership.

    Work closely with the custodian bank, investment managers and administrators, and other University departments including the Treasurer's Office and Office of General Counsel.


    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    Bachelor's Degree and a record of strong academic achievement.

    Preferred Education:

    Master's Degree MBA Preferred

    Required Experience:

    7+ years of relevant experience at an endowment-like institution, investment company, bank, or similar environment.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
    Curiosity and keen attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving analytic abilities supported by sophisticated use of Excel. Strong critical and strategic thinking skills. Strong knowledge of investment operations and functions, including performance reporting and transition management.

    High degree of comfort with and interest in systems and applications relevant to investment operations, trading, reporting, and risk management.

    The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills. The highest ethical standards. Professional, proactive, self-motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic.

    Able to develop the Office's current practices into 'best practices.' Able to build credibility with University colleagues, service providers, and other constituents.

    Flexible in order to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a demanding environment. Focused on having a meaningfully positive impact on and delivering results to the Investment Office.


    Additional Information


    In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $360,000.00 to USD $400, New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

    This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
