- Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and complies patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
- Under the direction of a hand surgeon, you will conduct patient assessments, order, or directly provide treatments, and provide patient education and support.
- Provides post-op follow-ups as needed.
- First assist in the O/R 2-4 days per week.??
- Work under protocol to develop an effective, safe, and patient-centered treatment plan
- Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the physician regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status.
- Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the care team through written documentation, telephone or in-person conversation.
- Ensure timely access of patient appointments.
- This position is 20% Clinic (2 days/week) and 80% Operating Room (OR) - up to 4 days/week.
- Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant
- BLS and ACLS Certification required
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification required
- Minimum one (1) year Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area preferred, e.g., orthopaedics or sports medicine, general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties.
