    Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

    Interview Question:

    Location: Throughout Michigan Schools

    Pay Rate: $30+ - depending on experience

    1. Health Assessments: Perform health assessments of students, including vital signs, vision, and hearing screenings.
    2. Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments to students as directed by healthcare providers and according to school policies.
    3. First Aid and Emergency Care: Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed, including assessing injuries and illnesses, applying basic medical treatments, and initiating emergency protocols.
    4. Health Education: Educate students, families, and school staff on health-related topics, such as proper nutrition, hygiene practices, and illness prevention.
    5. Health Records Management: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students, including documentation of assessments, treatments, and communication with parents/guardians and healthcare providers.
    6. Collaboration: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to support the overall health and well-being of students.
    7. Health Promotion Programs: Participate in the development and implementation of health promotion programs and initiatives within the school community, such as immunization clinics, health fairs, and wellness activities.
    8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with state regulations, school policies, and healthcare standards related to nursing practice in the school setting.
    9. Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current on best practices, trends, and developments in school nursing and healthcare.

    Qualifications:

    1. Education: Completion of a state-approved practical nursing program and attainment of a diploma or certificate in practical nursing.
    2. Licensure: Current and valid LPN license issued by the state licensing board.
    3. Clinical Skills: Proficiency in performing basic nursing skills, including medication administration, wound care, vital sign assessment, and patient monitoring.
    4. Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess patient needs, identify priorities, and make sound clinical judgments.
    5. Physical Stamina: Physical stamina and endurance to perform nursing duties, including standing for long periods, lifting and transferring patients, and responding to emergency situations.
    6. Continuing Education: Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current on nursing practices, regulations, and healthcare advancements.
