    Manufacturing Engineer - LEAN/CNC

    (Stanchfield, MN)

    Summary:

    Hire Talent engages in recruitment for our client, a mid-sized manufacturer and distributor of industrial bronze bearings and components. Our client serves Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, contract manufacturers, and end users.     Responsibilities:

    The Manufacturing Engineer enhances and maximizes the continuous improvement of industrial products through the leadership of LEAN Manufacturing Practices along with ensuring Safety Policies and Procedures are met. The Manufacturing Engineer analyzes facility layouts, costs, process flows, quality assurance, labor and production schedules to determine maximum efficiency and utilization of workers and equipment.

    • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Lead the application of LEAN manufacturing principles to streamline production processes, eliminate waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
    • Implement the LEAN strategy to reduce inventory, lead-time and waste
    • Analyze current manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, and develop and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times.
    • Confers with planning, scheduling, and supervisory staff to ensure safe and efficient production methods are promoted.
    • Drives improvements in productivity and product flow.
    • Works with facility maintenance to support production and improve the equipment preventative maintenance program.
    • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
    • Recommends and implements improvements in the production process.
    • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
    • Arrange the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
    • Provide training and support to manufacturing teams on LEAN principles and tools, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.
    • Justify capital equipment acquisition and assume total project management responsibility including capital request, procurement, plant layout and installation/implementation.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor Degree in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Business Analytics, or related degree preferred.
    • 1-3 years mill and lathe CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming knowledge.
    • 4 plus years of experience in LEAN manufacturing aspects of a plant such as 5S, Cellular Manufacturing, Kan-ban replenishment, SMED, Visual management, Continuous Flow and Material Flow.
    • Software and robotics background
    • Project management and leadership abilities in LEAN practices.
    • High mix low volume manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Well spoken, results-oriented and organized.
