    Description


    Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a privately-owned and rapidly growing electrical contractor in Rochester, NY to recruit a Senior Accountant.


    Position Summary:


    The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and assists with the accounting functions for the company, including reconciliations, A/P & A/R, journal entries, general ledger, and assisting with preparation for the month-end close.


    Responsibilities:
    Reconciling bank, credit card, general ledger accounts.
    Entering and posting vendor invoices and payments, purchase orders, customer billing and payments.
    Entering and posting job related and A/R transactions.
    Vendor and customer billing and/or payment disputes and vendor record maintenance.
    Assisting with preparing and posting journal entries.
    Participating and assisting with month-end closing process.
    Generating various reports, including ad hoc requests, compiling data, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    Following up with Project Managers to approve invoices in a timely manner.
    Confirming monthly insurance, utility, and service invoices are entered correctly.
    Monitoring open purchase orders in system, weekly and bi-weekly.
    Provide backup as needed in the accounting department.
    Documenting processes requested by Controller.
    Supporting additional projects by Controller.

    Requirements:
    Associates in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, Bachelors degree is preferred.
    A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a construction accounting experience.
    Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and self-motivated.
    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
    Strong financial accounting knowledge and ability to understand and adhere to GAAP.
    Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
