Position Summary:
The Family Allies Care Manager adheres to the BFP System of Care principles of practice and provides family cantered strength based assessment, planning, linkage, coordination, and advocacy for children and families.
The Care Manager works as a team member with key partners including parents, family members, foster parents, caregivers, guardian ad litem, DCF Protective Investigators, CLS attorneys, therapists, providers, and other appropriate professionals.
The Care Manager will train and become proficient in identifying and assessing child and family needs with the ultimate goal of achieving permanency.
Must successfully complete Child Protection Certification training and examination, then a considerable period of monitored field practice under close supervision and the associated field case assessment process.

65c Preferred one year of experience working with children and families N/A New hire required to complete pre-service training class and attain passing score on Child Welfare Case Manager Exam Care Manager 1 Provisionally Certified Provisional Certification through Florida Certification Board (FCB) Passing score of 78% or above on the Child Welfare Case Manager Exam N/A Care Manager will be assigned a protected caseload upon completion of pre-service training.
Care Manager must complete field observation and supervision requirements Care Manager 2 Full Certification Full Certification through Florida Certification Board (FCB) Complete the following with a qualified supervisor: 6 field visits with follow-up consultation 20 hours of individual supervision 10 hours of group supervision 10 hours of any combination of group or individual supervision 1,040 hours of related work experience in the discipline in which the applicant is seeking certification 20 hours of child welfare related training required annually N/A Care Manager will be assigned progressively increased caseload upon completion of protected caseload period.
Care Manager must complete field observation and supervision requirements and submit documentation required for certification as early as 6 months and no later than 1 year after obtaining provisional certification.
Care Manager 3 Full Certification Full Certification through Florida Certification Board (FCB) At least six months of experience post-certification; 20 hours of child welfare related training annually; Maintain Human Trafficking (HT) certification Meets Expectations, Exceeds Expectations, or Exceptional Fully certified Care Manager who does not have an interest in mentoring trainees/provisionally certified staff or developing as a Supervisor.
Care Manager will continue professional development as a Care Manager.Care Manager 4 Mentor Full Certification through Florida Certification Board (FCB) At least one year of experience post-certification; 20 hours of child welfare related training annually; Maintain Human Trafficking (HT) certification; TBD Mentor Training Meets Expectations, Exceeds Expectations, or Exceptional Fully certified Care Manager who is interested in serving as a mentor for trainees/provisionally certified staff.
Initial and ongoing mentoring training will be provided.Care Manager 5 Supervisor Development Full Certification through Florida Certification Board (FCB) At least one year of experience post-certification; 20 hours of child welfare related training annually; Maintain Human Trafficking (HT) certification; TBD Supervisor Development Training Meets Expectations, Exceeds Expectations, or Exceptional Fully certified Care Manager who is interested in developing as a Care Manager Supervisor.
Care Manager will receive a protected caseload to allow for training and development as an acting Supervisor.
