Job summary
The incumbent conducts administrative child support hearings and provides legal representation in court for the Portage County Child Support Enforcement Agency pertaining to all statutory requirements as well as Public Assistance overpayment claims.
+Responsibilities
- Provide legal representation in court for the Portage County JFS pertaining to all statutory requirements including pre-trial motions/hearings, enforcement actions on existing child support orders,
- evidentiary hearings, arraignments UIFSA petitions administrative paternity/child support order review and adjustment proceedings ,
- Draft file legal documents appropriate court with jurisdiction in Public Assistance matters regarding unpaid delinquent overpayment claims incurred by current or past clients receipt public welfare benefits provide training CSEA staff relative filing liens developing strategies collect unpaid child obligations research regulations policies laws prepare pleadings foreclosures bankruptcy probate proceedings other like actions collection unpaid obligations answer correspondence telephone inquiries handle customer complaints disturbances keep current laws attending continuing education programs seminars conferences maintain continuing eligibility under Ohio Supreme Court standards perform related duties required demonstrate regular predictable attendance operate motor vehicle needed essential functions perform varied complex non-standardized tasks knowledge numerous policies rules procedures regulations laws direct work activities paralegals case managers supervisor provides general guidance allowing planning procedures methods attain objectives incumbent makes most decisions regarding work independently have contacts coworkers employees county general public provide information services assistance coordinate department efforts internally outside entities ensure compliance policies procedures laws regulations
