    ASRC Federal Professional Services is currently seeking a "CREO Designer" to grow as a professional within our organization, supporting PM Tactical Radio in their mission to develop these future combat/communication/positioning systems, to transform warfighter operations for many years
    This position is based out of ASRC Federal Sterling Heights, MI office
    This is a unique opportunity to experience working in a military research and development environment, in a position uniquely suited to helping obtain valuable experience in emerging military technologies
    The work is dedicated to advancing technology in ground vehicle systems and survivability for our troops

    Overview:
    The designer's main focus will be to function as a component of our design team in performing Engineering Change Proposals and Technical Data Package verifications, 3D and 2D renderings for (vehicle-based environment) Autonomous Vehicles project, Tactical Radio and electrical harnesses/cables and interfacing with the mechanical/electrical engineering department for total system modeling in support of daily Army requirements

    Responsibilities/Duties:
    Working in a collaborative team, performing the following tasks:


    • Work closely with the engineering staff to develop 3D cable routings using CREO software.
    • Must be proficient at reading military cable drawings, bill of materials and performing inventory/kit sheet creation.
    • Must have the ability to take redline drawings for design modifications from technicians and revise the drawings/models.
    • Responsible for designing all Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) and related hardware.
    • Mock-up and installation of NRE related hardware on military vehicles.
    • Participate in on-site integration of projects on various military installations.
    • Designer must be willing to travel 10% of the time.
    • Must be flexible and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects and/or assignments.
    • This Designer will support the Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) with 3D CREO solid models and 2D dimensioned drawings of military vehicles, vehicle components, wiring harnesses etc
    using Government furnished Parametric Systems computer software modules

    The modules include Pro Engineer Creo, sheet metal bending, piping, and electrical packages, and Project Data Management Software such as Windchill.


    • This Designer will collaborate with other Designers, Engineers and Technicians in tasks related to creating models, drawings, and assemblies, reverse engineering parts, components, subsystems, and systems; updating and revising drawing changes and preparing models for other processes to include finite element method (FEM), computer numerical control (CNC), Water jet cutting, and Laser jet cutting.
    • The Designer shall create models and drawings using Government Furnished native Creo software and incorporate other imported file formats (step, iges, dxf) into models when needed and store files on provided local area Project Data Management (PDM) networks.
    • This Designer shall deliver drawings of various level of detail depending on the requirement

    The level of design will be determined by the requirement and will range from prototype drawings suitable for in house manufacturing to full level production drawings suitable for competitive procurement.


    • This person shall utilize their extensive knowledge in creating top-down design Technical Data Packages to include: part models, assemblies, sub-assemblies, weldments, and installations

    Preferred:

    • Active Secret clearance a plus or must be able to obtain a Secret clearance

    Experience/Education Requirements:

    • Position requires a Bachelor's degree and two to four years of related design experience, or five years' experience in lieu of degree.
    • 2-5 years of WindChill experience
    • Proficient with PTC Creo software, Creo Cable Harness, Creo Schematic, AutoCAD, Adobe Pro.
