    We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Senior Buyer to join our team in the distribution industry.

    This role is a critical part of our procurement team, responsible for overseeing purchasing activities and ensuring that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality.

    The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts, and an ability to negotiate to secure the best prices.

    This role will also require a solid understanding of packaging processes and a proficiency in Excel.
    Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies in alignment with company goals.
    Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality, etc. Evaluate and enhance operational performance with an aim to improve processes and reduce costs.
    Oversee the work of purchasing agents and procurement specialists.
    Understand and manage risks associated with supply contracts and agreements.
    Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
    Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
    Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
    Proven 3+ years of experience as a buyer or relevant role in the industrial space.
    Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems.
    Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
    Ability to analyze market trends and buying patterns.
    APICS, CPM, or CSCP certification would be considered an asset.
