    Senior Systems Test Engineer

    (ONSITE)

    position located

    at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey offering a competitive yearly salary.

    SUMMARY
    EES provides mission-critical engineering support at the William J.

    Hughes Technical Center, FAA's premier research and test facility, to facilitate the safety and efficiency of Air Traffic Control services on a nation-wide level.

    EES provides ongoing sustainment and evolution of the supporting infrastructure for the National Airspace System in multiple domain areas. We have an imminent opening for highly qualified candidates with applicable expertise in

    systems test engineering .

    Join our Aeronautical Information Management Modernization (AIMM) program that supports the FAA safety mission and Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) objectives by developing automation and information systems and services to address future air traffic requirements and providing aviation users with digital AI that conforms to international standards.


    POSITION DESCRIPTION
    Applying engineering principles to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software and computing systems.
    Evaluating and testing new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify those programs.
    Ensuring software is functioning according to user requirements.

    Efficiently writing, revising, and verifying quality standards and test procedures for the desired program and evaluating the product to attain the desired quality, Experience ensuring a high level of economical quality of the software.

    Planning and scheduling equipment pre-installation, Maintenance, and repair and removal activities.
    Conduct equipment pre-installation testing, generating installation documentation, and conducting post installation procedures. Experience coordinating to minimize downtime.
    Interface with clients, technical support personnel, and other technical professionals to ensure efficient and effective service.
    Monitor the progress of each activity and providing status updates as required.


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    U.S. Citizen and permanent residency
    Bachelor's degree (in computer science, engineering, or mathematics) + 15 yrs. related experience or a Master's degree with 12 yrs. related experience
    Experience developing software/system test plans, procedures, and reports.
    Microsoft Office experience (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel)
    Testing with SOAP tools
    Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) 5.1
    Extensible Markup Language (XML)
    Linux Operating System
