    Behavioral Health Adult inpatient unit

    Behavioral Health Adult inpatient unit providing the treatment of individuals age years with acute psychiatric illness or symptom exasperation of severe mental health disorders. Additionally patients may have comorbid substance abuse disorders and medical comorbidities. The adult inpatient unit consist of 28 beds.

    Behavioral Health Geriatric Unit

    Behavioral Health Geriatric Unit providing the treatment of individuals age 65 and over with acute psychiatric illness or symptom exasperation of severe mental health disorders. Additionally patients may have more common medical comorbidities associated with chronic illnesses. The geriatric inpatient unit consist of 10 beds.

    GENERAL OVERVIEW:

    Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of the healthcare organization.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population. (30%)
  • Initiates interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population. (30%)
  • Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner and promotes communication between caregivers. (10%)
  • Contributes to Division, Hospital, and Department goals. (10%)
  • Provides detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care as well as transition to another level of care and/or home. (10%)
  • Collaborates and supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues. (10%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
