    PURPOSE:
    Prepare the master production schedule for the plant. Convert master production schedule to feasible production plan.

    A primary area of focus will be to ensure that the master production schedule meets customer delivery expectations while keeping a smooth flow of work through the plant and minimizing inventory investments.

    Position is also responsible for scheduling raw material in order to provide a smooth flow to manufacturing to meet customer requirements.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    Assess demand and set load requirements for all departments in Grafton and GBE
    Create manning models
    Set throughput targets for Grafton and GBE
    Maintain and drive material release plan for Grafton
    Create and drive weekly Grafton to Dillon delivery plan
    Develop and maintain 1yr, 3yr, and 5yr demand and capacity plans.
    Identify where additional equipment and people resources are needed well ahead of actual need
    Develop a facility models in Factory Planner for use in scheduling facility as well as conducting "what-if" analyses.
    Analyze and report projected press set-ups/batches, work center load hours, cycle times, inventory, etc. using Factory Planner.
    Analyze work center capacity and model plan based on infinite capacity or finite capacity as required.
    Responsible for setting and maintaining the lines.
    Responsible for developing schedules that reduce inventories.
    Develop policies and procedures that will allow the plant to run from reports generated by the factory planner system.
    Liaison between Purchasing and Customer Service Departments for scheduling raw material.
    Works closely with Estimating for the set-up of Bills of Materials and routers.
    Supports Production Control with systems and scheduling information.
    Provides scheduling information to shop personnel for the RMC process.
    Works closely with IT personnel to review and develop functionality in the manufacturing systems.
    Provides information and reports to appropriate personnel as needed.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    College degree and/or equivalent supply chain experience.
    APICS certification or courses. Knowledge and experience with planning systems (ERP, MRP, etc.).
    Excellent communication and analytical skills.
    Minimum 4 years' experience in Heavy Manufacturing (Steel making, automotive or forging preferred)
    Familiarity with e-commerce.
    Familiarity with metal manufacturing processes.
    Theoretical and practical understanding of the Theory of Constraints.
    Ability to see the "big picture."
