    Overview:


    Under the direct support of the Founder, the Director of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operation of high quality early learning care for all schools under his/her license.

    This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with licensing procedures and guidelines.

    Providing leadership and support to Operations Managers, Teachers, Assistant Teachers, volunteers, and other program staff in ensuring a safe, clean, and WAC compliant school.

    Developing and maintaining ongoing partnerships with parents/families, and administration faculty/staff. Maintaining high personal standards, exceptional employee engagement and customer service while carrying out the purpose of the company.


    The position of Director of Operations requires a high level of leadership, strategic thinking, time management, systems development and excellent communication skills.

    Therefore, we have identified the following as the top requirements for this role:

    Areas of Focus


    Safety:
    Lead and manage the schools so that the number one priority is the safety of children and faculty/staff. Ensure the cleanliness and clutter free environment at each school, including, but not limited to children's cubbies.


    Must understand that safety items must be addressed immediately and be able to plan for and coordinate any necessary repairs.

    Must be able to create a culture of compliance for health and safety throughout all schools.


    Leadership:
    Lead by example and inspire our staff to work towards achieving our purpose, values, and goals.

    You are responsible for creating a positive work environment and fostering a culture of collaboration, caring communication, accountability to other staff and to established policies and requirements, and innovation.

    Able to get results though employees while simultaneously supporting them and holding everyone accountable.

    Enrollments, Admissions and Community Outreach:
    Ensure full enrollment and maintenance of waiting lists at all schools under your leadership

    Oversee enrollment and admissions.

    Create Admissions Policies and Procedures, engage and train school-based accordingly.

    Maintain wait lists and create systems so school is engaging regularly with families on the waitlist.

    Coordinate school tours.

    Coordinate enrollment outreach efforts.

    Coordinate Community Outreach and Engagement efforts.

    Lead in establishing an Alumni Association and enlisting volunteers for the schools.

    Be aware of community trends in current and new communities including conducting Community Assessments.


    Must be obsessed with meeting the needs of the protagonist and the families including explaining how learning is occurring with each child.


    Operations Management:
    Create and maintain operational materials, procedures, and policies for all schools under your leadership.

    Annually, create and update Parent Handbook, Health Handbook and Infant Toddler Supplement at all schools.

    Create onboarding systems for families, and train school-based teams on systems and implementation.


    With the Director of Education/Pedagogy, plan family services that include on and off boarding: active supervision and/or transition to kindergarten and/or transition to different classroom; engage school-based teams in the plan accordingly.

    Overall Facilities Management and policy development, including Kitchen Management

    Oversee general purchasing and inventory

    Create Operational Policies and Procedures, partnering with Operations Managers and other school leadership.

    Work with the Executive Team to create family engagement surveys.

    Develop and cultivate family partnerships with families and develop calendar of activities including regularly schedule class meetings.

    • Create systems for each school on the ProCare, Childplus system - Family Statistics; train accordingly.
    Responsible for overall Transportation management and policy development.

    Responsible for overall Facilities and Kitchen Management and policy development.

    Responsible for overall general supplies, purchasing and inventory management.

    Create Operational Policies and Procedures, partnering with Operations Managers.

    Create family meetings systems for all schools; train and implement systems with Operations Managers.

    Understand that culture is built/starts from the ground up.


    People and Team Management:
    Create and Monitor procedures and tasks that track individual and team performance and policy adherence.


    Create with the Executive Team, an evaluation system for employees at each school; train and implement systems with team members.

    Manage employee time cards and overtime tracking and approval for employees.

    Conduct ongoing observations and ongoing performance evaluations of faculty and staff.

    With the assistance of Operations Managers, address attendance, safety and policy issues in a timely but collaborative manner.


    Other Duties as assigned:


    As the work and environment changes to address the needs of the staff, children and families, be available to take on other duties as assigned.

    Education, Experience and

    Skills:
    Must have a minimum of 7-10 years of supervisory and operations experience.

    Must have experience with the WAC State Child Care Licensing regulations.

    Experience in building a school community is a must.

    BA in Early Childhood Education. Management or closely related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

    Physical Abilities:


    Ability to walk up and down stairs; sit at a desk, utilize hands/fingers and eyes for mouse, keyboard and monitor, stand for long periods of time, and lift a minimum of 35lbs.


    Must provide and maintain current Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, proof of TB Screen, MMR Vaccine, CPR/First Aid, Food Handler Permit, STARS Training, Bloodborne Pathogens/HIV Training and all other MERIT required trainings.


    Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, squat, stoop and reach as is needed in a typical early learning program.


    Skills:
    Work collegially with, for and alongside diverse leadership, faculty/staff and English as a Second Language faculty/staff.

    Reflective Supervision and coaching, with a commitment to servant leadership and establishing trust and collaboration, while also setting standards of accountability

    High level decision making ability. Takes accountability for decisions made in this role.

    Problem solving skills and the practice of involving teachers in problem solving efforts.

    Excellent writing skills, knowledge of formatting documents and creating written systems out of vague concepts.

    Function simultaneously as both a researcher and a practitioner in order to keep up with standards of practice.

    Work well under pressure. Calm and collected under stressful situations. Remain calm and respectful in tough situations.

    Ability to build trust among staff and coworkers.

    Maintains stable and reliable attendance.

    Must have a valid WA State Driver's License and a vehicle for travel to schools, etc.
