- This position oversees the design, development, and production of heavy equipment.
- The Product Engineer is responsible for producing designs, specifications, drawings, and bills of material for construction.
- A major part of that responsibility is ensuring regulatory compliance, structural analysis, and testing to confirm the integrity of designs and minimize risks associated with transporting dangerous and hazardous materials.
- Additionally, the Product Engineer works closely with customers to understand their requirements, coordinates production to meet order specifications, provides technical support, and resolves design issues throughout production.
- The incumbent obtains approvals from regulators for new designs and products and offers general technical assistance to customers, regulators, trade associations, and other departments within the organization.
- They also support the Chief Product Engineer in maintaining an efficient department and assist in various industry committees and task groups.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial or Mechanical) or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 1 or more years of experience in Product Engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma
- Experience building relationships with customers, vendors, and departments
- Experience with factory support and improving sustaining operations.
