    Description

    Our client is a global organization with excellent employee retention. They are seeking a Network Security Engineer II to configure and manage high availability firewall implementations. The Engineer should have experience with general enterprise physical and logical firewall management, configuration, licensing, VPN, and security policy design. Will configure, migrate, upgrade, and managing configurations with Palo Alto Panorama. This role ensures the stability, dependability, efficiency, and security of the global network environment, which is essential for protecting an organization's digital assets against cyber threats.

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in planning and designing the network security architecture, suggesting systems and technologies that align with the company's goals.
    • Involvement in creating and implementing network security standards is crucial for maintaining a consistent security posture across all equipment.
    • Replace failed hardware with Palo Alto OS and tools, utilize SEIM and or SYSLOG for data collection and reporting.
    • Assessing new networking security technologies to ensure they meet business needs is a key function, demonstrating the role's importance in keeping the organization's technology stack updated and secure.
    • Conducting project planning, cost analysis, and vendor comparisons indicates a blend of technical and managerial capabilities required for this position.
    • Making technical decisions based on team input and available resources shows the role's autonomy and significance in influencing the company's network security direction.

    Requirements

    • 3 to 5 years of professional experience and a preference for a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, the role targets individuals with a solid foundation in cybersecurity principles and practices, ready to take on more responsibility.
    • Experience with a range of security technologies (e.g., Palo Alto Firewalls, Splunk, Cisco IOS) and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure (Active Directory, virtualization, networking). These requirements highlight the technical depth and breadth needed.
    • Performing routine audits and maintenance upgrades are essential for ensuring ongoing system integrity and security.
    • Ability to analyze system logs and understand complex networking concepts underscores the analytical nature of the role.
