    Job Summary:

    The Intensive Care Technician (ICT) is responsible for assisting in direct patient care specific to the unit assigned; assisting with patient transfers and repositioning, transporting of patients, supplies, or specimens; and any other duties as deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care and physician service, under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse.

    The ICT also functions in a dual role with responsibilities for observation of the cardiac monitors.

    The ICT should assist with CPR and routine clerical duties as needed to accomplish patient care and maintain permanent records.

    The ICT is responsible to the Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, Department Manager/Director, Nursing Supervisor, Associate Directors of Nursing Services and the Chief Nursing Officer.


    Qualifications:

    Education:
    High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

    Experience:
    Patient care and/or EKG interpretation experience preferred.

    License / Certifications:
    Must maintain current BLS certification.
