- Performs the job while following all AAA and industry safety guidelines as well as following Fleets policies and procedures.
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections, diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts, and completing repairs.
- Ensures equipment is available for use and meets DOT compliance standards by completing preventive maintenance schedules, and installing component and part upgrades.
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as: power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering and/or hydraulics.
- Assists in cost control by maximizing warranty usage and evaluating service and parts cost options.
- Keeps shop equipment fully operational by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Clear and proficient verbal and written communication even under pressure.
- Advanced diagnostic capabilities and ability to utilize scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of vehicle components and the common reasons for vehicle failure.
- Demonstrates problem solving and listening skills as well as the ability to discern safety issues and respond appropriately.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years related experience
- Technical Training: Diesel/Medium-Heavy Truck
- Experienced Master ASE Certified Medium-Heavy Truck Technician working with Cummins, MaxxForce, Allison, and Hino. Hydraulic systems, aftermarket system add-ons and chassis cab buildouts (Preferred).

- EPA Section 609 Technician Training and Certification (TT&C) - Air conditioning
- Maintains current certifications (ASE, DOT, EPA Section 609 Technician Training and Certification TT&C).
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Requirements
- Minimum of 2 successful ASE certifications within: T2 - Diesel Engines, T3 - Drive Train, T4 - Brakes, T5 - Suspension & Steering, T6 - Electrical/Electronic Systems, T7 - Heating, Ventilation & Conditioning (HVAC).
