    Hiring RangeThe hiring range for this position is $50,000-$69,000 base annually .

    This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting.

    The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.


    What you'll be doing:


    Responsible for ensuring instructions and specifications outlined in the QC Manual are available to all Company personnel that assemble and repair valves.

    Also responsible for obtaining additional information that may be required.

    When parts are required in the repair of ASME Code Certification Marked valves, completes a parts requisition form and forwards it to the Repair Coordinator.

    When replacement parts are received, checks them for correctness and defects.

    If the components are correct and without defects the control card is attached to the repair traveler and the control signoff is initiated releasing the parts for use in the valve.

    Checks valve components for correctness and defects. If components are correct, attaches the shop assembly order and initials the control signoff initiating valves for assembly.
    Responsible for witnessing and approving final test for set pressure and when completed initiates control signoff.
    Responsible for nameplate selection and accuracy of the data stamped on the manufacturer's nameplate.

    Writes the nonconformance report when defects are detected during the assembly or repair processProvides training to Valve Technicians and offers management assessments of shop staff and recommendations for Technician Level I-III promotion.

    This is not an entry level position.

    A thorough understanding of Quality Control processes, Pressure Relief Devices, Boiler Management and Maintenance, Time and Personnel Management, Field and Shop Job Scheduling are required.


    What we're looking for:
    5+ years' experience in Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) / Safety Relief Valve (SRV) specific repair.
    Comprehensive understanding of ASME Section I and Section VIII Div. 1 Code, ANSI and NBIC codes including audit preparation and standards for qualifying certifications and marks.
    High level of mechanical aptitude.
    Demonstrable machining skills, preferred.
    Supervisory mindset and the ability to train.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills; clearly and effectively able to provide instruction, set expectations for safe PRD repair and assembly, and provide clear & constant feedback.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results while managing multiple projectsHigh level of organizational skills required (both written & task-related); must have a 'follow-through' attitudeHighly dependable with a strong work-ethic; able to lead/motivate while working as part of a teamCapable of working extended hours with little to no-noticeExcellent, detail-oriented, well-disciplined administrative organizational skills.

    Excellent situational awareness and outstanding attention-to-detail.
    Experience with digital travelers and valve management software systems; high level of computer literacy is required.

    Physical Demands:


    Ability to lift 50 lbs, physical dexterity and good hearing and visionTravel:In the first 3-6 months, individual will train in our Santa Fe Springs, CA, location.

    This position is mostly shop based. Potential for rare overnight travel for company trainings.
