    Job Description Salary:

    Summary:


    The BIM Specialist acts as key technical and implementation source of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for assigned projects and maintains effective relationships with design, project, and client teams.

    Converting the design of HVAC, Mechanical, and/or Plumbing systems to create accurate models ensuring constructability.


    Must be able to translate 2D drawings and specifications into a complete Building Information Model to produce construction drawings and fabrication workflow processes per The Hill Group Standards.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Attend kick-off meeting with project engineer and Virtual Construction Group Supervisor
    Review and understand complete scope of work including job specifications, budget, BIM schedule, and project schedule.
    Provide input for value engineering or cost saving measures at beginning of project.
    Electronic file management and organization per department standards

    Obtain current plans, specifications, Revit drawings, equipment submittals, installation matrix and other documentation from project engineer, architect, engineer, and other subcontractors.

    Review submittals and coordinate requirements with project engineer.
    Assist in preparing RFI's for Project Manager.
    Visit job site and attend coordination meetings.
    Create coordinated construction drawings within guidelines of department workflow standards.
    Review and manage

    construction/fabrication

    drawings produced by the Virtual Construction Fabrication Group (VCFG) within guidelines of department workflow standards.
    Complete internal quality review checklists for all items submitted to the project team
    Review architectural and structural drawings for coordination with

    mechanical/plumbing

    systems.
    Communicate with the project team to ensure that

    fabrication/installation

    documents provided by VCFG meet construction schedule requirements. Work with the overall project team to ensure that documents are provided with enough time for everyone to review.
    Maintain contact with the project team to understand schedule priorities, sequencing issues and changes to installation.
    Work with VCFG to create as-built drawings and ensure thorough accuracy
    Turn-over project documentation to project engineer for file archiving.
    Provide peer review of drawings of VCFG Design Techs assigned to project.
    Assist in mentoring and training individuals within the group to promote growth
    Maintain positive and professional relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors and engineers.


    Experience and Qualifications:
    Minimum (3) years relevant experience and/or (2) year degree
    Knowledge of Autodesk Fabrication Software, Navisworks, Revit
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook)


    Other Qualifications:
    Requires an ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situations
    Requires a great attention to detail, accuracy and an ability to prioritize and multi-task
    Must be dependable, organized and self-motivated
    Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all company

    divisions/departments
