    We are seeking professionals to join our team as a Quality Rate Analyst I. In this position, you will be responsible for testing the accuracy of rates and premium formulas used in issuing policies. Work is defined by assignments based on the G&P schedule. Incumbents learn the skills necessary to develop, execute and maintain test plans and scenarios. Work will be defined by assignments of determined scope and complexity where initiative and independent judgement is defined by instructions.

    This position is available onsite in Springfield, MO and Glenmont, NY.

    What You'll Do:

  • Acquires skills to maintain rate files and validate the accuracy of programs as directed by the G&P schedule following Sarbanes-Oxley anti-fraud law (SOX) processes.
  • Learns skills to test a policy rating by developing and executing test plans, test cases, and scenarios.
  • Acquires the basic knowledge of insurance, fundamental business concepts, foundational actuarial technician skills, and technical computer skills.
  • Develops and utilizes rating calculators through Excel spreadsheets to validate premiums in Policy Admin systems and programs to ensure premiums are calculated correctly in accordance with SOX requirements.
  • Identifies errors, defects, system problems and unexpected results prior to implementation.
  • Handles small to medium service requests and project tasks as a part of a larger team.
  • Reviews requirements, identifies issues with requirements, and seeks clarity to improve the quality of rate test expectations.
  • Follows industry standard testing techniques.
  • Communicates and coordinates with other areas' line of business stakeholders in project planning and execution
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong mathematical skills required; ability to process information logically; and problem-solving, critical thinking; time management ability
