Position Profile
The School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy (SoPMFT) at Fuller Theological Seminary invites applications for a full-time, administrative faculty appointment as Program Director of the Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MSMFT) program in Pasadena, CA.
Fuller's MFT department offers two degrees:
an MSMFT degree at our Pasadena, CA and Phoenix, AZ campuses and a Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT).
Both programs are designed to provide excellence in training for future marriage and family therapists, who learn how to apply family systems-based theories and therapeutic modalities to address the needs of individuals, couples, and families in a variety of contexts.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to work closely with the MFT Department Chair and the Pasadena faculty and staff to oversee the Pasadena MSMFT program.
These responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the curriculum (in collaboration with the Department Chair); student recruitment and retention (in collaboration with Fuller's Global Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing, and Retention department); hiring/managing staff (in collaboration with functional managers); hiring/managing faculty (in collaboration with the Department Chair and SoPMFT Dean); overseeing clinical training (in collaboration with the Pasadena Director of Clinical Training); and budget planning and oversight.
In addition, the incumbent will be expected to teach a limited number of classes each year. This is an in-person position requiring residence in Los Angeles County.Fuller Seminary, embracing the School of Mission and Theology and the School of Psychology & Marriage and Family Therapy, is a

QualificationsA doctoral degree in family therapy or a related field, such as clinical psychology is required. Also, at the time of appointment, the candidate must be licensed/licensed-eligible in the state of California. Candidates should demonstrate experience in clinical work, supervision, and in teaching at the graduate level.
Candidates should also show evidence of contributing to the field through professional presentations and publications and have the capability to effectively serve the culturally, ethnically, racially, and theologically diverse student body enrolled in this program.
