This fellowship opportunity provides exposure to cochlear implants and general audiology.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• Under the supervision of a licensed audiologist:
• Provides diagnostic assessment of hearing function in children and adults.
• Evaluates vestibular/balance function.
• Performs electrophysiologic assessment of hearing and balance function.
• Participates in early intervention services for children with hearing loss.
• Performs hearing implant evaluations.
• Provides rehabilitative management to adults and children with hearing loss.
• Evaluates tinnitus and provides tinnitus management.
• Counsels individuals with hearing and vestibular loss.
• Provides accurate reporting of results and recommendations.
• Participates in clinics and meetings.
• Assists with supply maintenance.
• Stays updated on new technologies in the field.
• Adheres to policies and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor degree, enrolled in a Doctor of Audiology program.
• Certification and Licensing: State of Florida provisional Audiologist licensure.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Work independently or collaboratively.
• Attention to detail.

Department Specific Functions

Audiology Fellows will participate in various activities like grand rounds, journal clubs, and lectures to enhance their clinical skills during a 50-week training program focusing on auditory diagnostics, vestibular diagnostics, auditory rehabilitation, and hearing implants. Further training adjustments will be made based on skill demonstration and competencies.
