    Description

    DIRECTV is seeking a Principal Project Manager to plan, prioritize, and oversee project management activities focused on internal DIRECTV projects or programs typically managing these projects/programs from initiation through delivery. This strategic leader is responsible for meeting the project/program requirements by applying project management skills, tools, and techniques to manage the project/program scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risk. As the Principal Project Manager, you will be deeply immersed into the team's strategy, priorities, and deliverables, becoming an expert in the team's agenda and needs.

    Here's what you'll do:

    • Conduct end to end project management of multiple large projects and may also manage sub-components of a large program.
    • Influence cross functional teams to complete projects or program deliverables within allotted timeline and budget.
    • Define project/program scope and objectives, guide activities of a project/program team including delegating tasks to team members, identifying resources, and establishing a master timeline for deliverables.
    • Manage and monitor daily activities and project progress on a regular basis to identify, assist, and correct any delays to ensure adherence to quality standards and review project/program deliverables.
    • Lead, direct, influence, and exercise extensive business knowledge and expertise to evaluate and resolve significant business issues pertinent for key projects.
    • Develop and drive solutions to increase the efficiency of business execution.
    • Influence and advise executive leadership on strategic, operational, and organizational issues.
    • Identify key internal/external stakeholders necessary for project completion and develop overall strategy for executing high value projects/programs.
    • Projects/programs are very complex in nature, rarely follow a repeatable framework, typically span multiple business units or are company-wide and require a high level of analysis to create project/program plans for new concept projects/programs.
    • Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to champion project(s) across the entire organization.
    • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
    • Conduct project/program meetings and is responsible for project/program tracking and analysis.
    • Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables.
    • Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team.
    • Communicate to client/vendors/leadership.

    What you'll need to be successful:

    • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration degree or equivalent experience preferred.
    • DMAIC/Lean Six Sigma Certification is strongly preferred. PMP and business development skills a plus
    • 5 - 7+ years of experience as a successful project management leader in a fast-moving business.
    • Excellent organization and planning skills with ability to multi-task.
    • Self-directed, results-oriented individual who can independently handle multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to independently identify and evaluate key risks.
    • Intellectually Agile – able to think deeply and qualitatively about strategy and vision.
    • Strong problem solving and influencing skills with experience achieving results.
    • Articulate with an ability to communicate in a direct and clear manner with all levels of the organization; history of communication with executives using oral, written, and presentation formats is preferred.

    The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $105,830 - $192,050

    Low (N1): $105,830 - $158,650

    Mid (N2): $111,400 - $167,000

    High (N3): $122,540 - $183,700

    Top (N4): $128,110 - $192,050
