    This is a Sherman Associates owned Marriot franchise location.

    The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives is critical to overall success.


    Schedule:
    We are currently seeking full-time availability to include both weekdays and weekends 8am - 4:30pm.

    Essential FunctionsGeneral maintenance and upkeep responsibilities including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, light carpentry and paintingResponds to open work orders and resolves requests within 24 hoursAssists in scheduling and completing preventive maintenance for buildings and building equipmentHands-on work of all building repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep of the facility with special attention to more involved operations or projectsDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustmentsUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing dutiesWalks property at regular intervals (daily) to ensure that the property is clean and orderly and in good maintenance conditionComply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areasOther tasks as assigned including: plumbing, blueprint, electrical, city codes, environmental initiative and trackingAssists in maintaining sufficient maintenance supply stockAssists in contracting outside vendors and taking bids for special projects or extensive maintenanceObtains approvals for expenditures and maintains budgetsMaintains exterior grounds and interior common areas in quality, presentable condition.

    This will include but is not limited to the following:
    Picks up trash and keep common areas neatSweeps walks and curbsWaters lawn, trees, shrubs, and flowerbedsShovels walks, sand or salt icy areasPerforms year-round grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removalCompletes additional duties as assignedExperience and Skills
    Minimum Requirements:1-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related carpentry/construction.

    Ideally in hospitality or a related industryMinimum age requirement of 18 years old or olderAbility to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environmentSpecial boilers license or willingness to obtain one, if applicableCertified Pool Operator (CPO), if applicableCurrent and valid driver's license required.

    Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR) and have a safe driving record, if applicableA passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman AssociatesSchedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotelEnsure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety servicesWORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
