- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years working with the Homeless or at-risk Youth, or 2+ years' experience in janitorial duties
- OSHA 10 general strongly preferred
- Must be able to pass a drug and background check
- Manual dexterity able to operate cleaning and maintenance tools
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Very good physical condition and endurance
- Previous experience in a charity kitchen, food bank, shelter kitchen, hospital kitchen, or similar facility preferred.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, reach, bend, kneel, stoop and climb
- Must be able to push/pull up to 100lbs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Frequently able to balance, twist, use hands and fingers and wrist motion
- Required to have good hand/eye coordination and mental alertness

Qualifications, Education, and/or Equivalent Experience:
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the facility throughout the shifts. Provide direct supervision of all residents during assigned shift. Provide direct supervision and training of WEX Clients during assigned shift. Provides crisis intervention as needed. Assist other SWHYC employees when needed to ensure optimum service to clients and guests. Assist Kitchen/Facilities Manager with inventory control, to include order cleaning supply and maintaining an appropriate inventory. Assist with light grounds keeping for tours and media events, maintains exterior dumpster area. Assist with light repairs and maintenance around the facility. Effectively communicates with director supervisor and operations supervisor both verbally and written. 16. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an indoor/outdoor environment . May be subject to sitting, lifting, bending, squatting, walking, standing, pushing and pulling, simple grasping and climbing.
