    Description

    Job Description:

    The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is in charge of leading a small team responsible for meeting the daily production needs. The main focus is on ensuring compliance with various requirements, monitoring performance, and maximizing productivity through efficiency methodologies. It's important to note that this role is more specific to the shipping and receiving duties related to precision machined components for aerospace OEMs, rather than general warehouse tasks.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Supervising shipping, receiving, material handling, and packaging personnel, including a local delivery driver.
    • Coordinating staff to achieve departmental goals.
    • Maintaining a skills matrix, ensuring job duties are well understood and cross-training team members.
    • Implementing 5S principles for workspace organization and efficiency.
    • Using lean methodologies to improve processes and increase efficiencies.
    • Ensuring customer orders are fulfilled daily.
    • Monitoring departmental KPIs and sharing updates with the management team.
    • Verifying ERP data and ensuring shipment accuracy.
    • Addressing issues promptly and communicating recommendations for solutions.
    • Inspecting orders to meet customer and carrier requirements.
    • Handling LTL shipping and freight forwarding.
    • Training on shipping documentation and compliance with regulations.
    • Maintaining accurate inventory through audits and verification.
    • Performing other assigned duties.

    Requirements:

    • Progressive experience in shipping and receiving roles.
    • Knowledge of administrative duties for domestic and international shipments.
    • Leadership skills and experience in Lean Principles and continuous improvement.
    • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or similar industries with high compliance standards.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and familiarity with carrier portals.
    • Understanding of manufacturing environments with make-to-order products.
