    Position Summary:

    Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons of bar and Restaurant by performing the duties outlined below. Serves guests and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner. Serves as a cashier, responsible for the cash flow and accounting operations of all the financials including reports of each shift.

    Major Responsibilities and Work Activities:

    • Take beverage/food orders from customers or servers.
    • Mixes ingredients including but not limited to liquor, soda, water and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
    • Serves wine and beer.
    • General Knowledge of wines and spirits.
    • Serves as a cashier for all servers in the outlet on the scheduled shift.
    • Completes all closing financial procedures.
    • Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies.
    • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
    • Completes opening and closing side work to include maintaining general sanitation standards of the bar, stocking/preparing garnishments.
    • Serves bar snacks, appetizers, and desserts at the bar and cocktail tables.
    • Makes supervisor aware of guest's comments and complaints.
    • Ability to interact in a professional manner with guests and co-workers during high-pressure times.
    • Display knowledge of service standards and procedures.
    • Exhibit knowledge of cocktails, wine, beverage, and food menu.

    • Anticipate and be attentive to the needs of others.
    • Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the Meadowood Employee Handbook and Departmental Rules.
    • Report to shift on time.
    • Must be customer service oriented, understanding and caring.
    • Patient and empathetic with guest and staff questions and concerns.
    • Detail oriented, paying close attention to accuracy and able to perform many diverse tasks concurrently.
    • Trustworthy in maintaining confidential information.
    • Able to set and stay focused on priorities through completion when under pressure of competing demands.
    • Must be a team player and be flexible.
    • Ability to actively listen and provide clear coherent responses to guest requests.
    • Must be able to solve problems that relate to Forum and customer service.

    Physical setting:

    • Casual dining restaurant
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
    • Able to carry trays of food and beverages up to 15 pounds.
    • Constant walking, bending, light lifting for duration of shift.

    Experience Required:

    • Two years food and beverage experience.
    • Basic computer skills
    • Familiar with California liquor laws; will not serve intoxicated guests or minors.

    Education, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

    • Ability to become TIPS certified & RBS
    • Food Handler Certificate

    Working Conditions:

    • Bar and Restaurant environment. (For Pool Terrace Café, ability to stand Napa Valley summer heat and the Pool environment.)

    Compensation

    • Base pay $21.00 pr/hr. + Tips + Service Charge
