Heron Power is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Scotts Valley, CA.
We are building cutting-edge power electronics for the 21st-century grid and aim to debottleneck the growth of electricity generation and consumption with scalable hardware solutions accelerating electrification of everything.
About this role:
- You will design develop and validate cutting-edge medium-voltage power electronics systems using first principles engineering solving difficult problems in dynamic collaborative environment driven by first principles engineering teamwork problem-solving skills attention to detail communication interpersonal skills ability work independently team experience designing mechanical parts assemblies CAD analysis prototyping testing hands-on work collaboration electrical test manufacturing engineering teams external suppliers own designs concept high-volume production experience electromechanical parts assemblies PCBAs connectors fuses electronic components FEA CFD multi-physics modeling software Ansys MATLAB Python Simulink StarCCM GD&T tolerance analysis reliability validation testing DFMEAs product lifecycle management PLM controlled release processes medium voltage products converters switchgear circuit breakers insulation shielding thermal structural tolerance analysis CATIA V6/3DX prototyping testing hands-on work collaboration different disciplines mechanical electrical manufacturing reliability teams external partners suppliers fastening sheet metal bending stamping injection molding diecasting extruding dispensing strong grip first principles hands-on skills sense initiative domain-specific knowledge experience career level hire competitive compensation salary equity benefits salary ranges $120,
