Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Payroll Accounting Department on a 3-month contract basis. The primary focus of this role is to assist with reporting tasks crucial for payroll accounting functions. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in downloading and formatting Excel files from our systems, ensuring accuracy and readiness for journal entries. This is an onsite position Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team members to download and manipulate Excel reports for payroll accounting purposes.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and formulas to analyze and format data effectively.
• Work closely with Oracle payroll systems, leveraging your expertise to enhance reporting efficiency.
• Assist in the preparation of journal entries by providing accurately formatted data from Excel reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies in all reporting activities.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the payroll accounting department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles, with a focus on reporting.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
• Familiarity with Oracle payroll systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
