    Description

    GSK is currently looking for a Facilities Supervisor to support site-wide utility systems, routine and preventative maintenance, and repairs for all equipment and systems. The individual will supervise a staff of maintenance and custodial personnel to provide maintenance requirements. They will also supervise the scheduling and coordination of maintenance contract work for all building-related equipment and systems. This role involves coordinating activities with other Operations groups (Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Validation, Materials Management, and Quality Systems) to create and implement policies and provide appropriate resources to support process activities and production schedules site-wide. The supervisor will also oversee annual shutdown activities and provide updates and detailed reports to the Facilities Manager as required.

    • Supervise facilities-related activities for GSK's pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial cGMP activities.
    • Assume site-wide facilities maintenance responsibilities, structuring an organization to perform functions required to maintain and repair GSK facilities systems and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
    • Recruit, obtain, and structure a facilities maintenance staff that is second to none, developing in-house expertise for critical process maintenance and operations functions.
    • Prepare and implement recommendations for making facilities maintenance SOPs and other related documentation uniform and consistent.
    • Implement and maintain a state-of-the-art computerized maintenance management system (Enterprise Asset Management System) to schedule, track, and document all preventative maintenance and repair activities site-wide.
    • Work with other Operations groups (Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, Materials Management, and Quality Systems) to create and implement policies and provide appropriate resources to support process activities and production schedules at all areas of operations.
    • Ensure Self-Inspection Universe procedures are in place and in use within the area of responsibility.
    • Ensure all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) adverse event investigations are started within 24 hours.
    • Ensure all EHS adverse event Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) are documented and completed within 5 days.
    • Own the EHS risk assessment process within the management area, identifying operations needing assessment, approving completed assessments, and ensuring any required mitigation or Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) are implemented on time.
    • Review Zero Accident Promotions (ZAPs) submitted by the team, identify trends, and applicable CAPAs, and discuss with the team at least weekly.
    • Conduct routine EHS-focused process confirmations in the area of management at least weekly.
    • Review area self-inspection reports to identify recurring EHS issues and ensure effective CAPAs are implemented at least monthly.

    The Facilities Supervisor may be responsible for making departmental decisions concerning maintenance and repair of utility and process equipment and providing input to the Manager, Facilities when contributing to the decision-making process for items affecting the site. The typical work hours for this position are a standard workday and 40-hour workweek, however, after-hours support may be required on occasion.

    Why You?

    • EPA Certified Universal Refrigerant License.
    • State of Maryland Board of Waterworks & Waste Systems Operators License.
    • State of Maryland Board of Waterworks & Waste Systems Superintendents License.
