- Exhibits competency in performing ultrasound procedures
- Images required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology
- Knowledgeable of catheters, biopsy instruments and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary
- Obtains accurate histories and explains rationale for procedure to patients/families
- Enhances image quality through the use of appropriate transducers and machine settings
- Evaluates the finished images to ensure diagnostic exams are being submitted to the radiologists
- Maintains quality care throughout the procedure
- Assess the abdominal arterial & venous system using color imaging
- All ultrasound equipment within the Medical Imaging Ultrasound department

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree in In the field of Ultrasound.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Must have proof of an ARDMS registry upon hire and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months.
