Border Patrol Agent

You will be part of a 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders.

Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.

Prevent and apprehend aliens at or near the borders using surveillance systems.

About This Job:

This is a career ladder position with grade level progression from GL-9 to GS-11 to GS-12.

The typical assignments include performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, transportation checks patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways for accomplishment of USBP Mission *. You will analyze information rapidly make prompt decisions develop maintain contact networks informants appraise priorities results situations leading investigations fraud contraband criminal activity threats nation illegal operations sources patterns utilize complex technology such as surveillance detection situation awareness communication equipment perform physical searches detained individuals vehicles surroundings weapons contraband currency evidence proficient firearms preparing investigative reports serving court orders gathering evidence prosecuting through court system possessing one year specialized experience equivalent lower grade level enforcement authority state government enforce laws arrests investigate crimes primary duties official law enforcement capacity utilizing intelligence track illegal operations source pattern discovering violators enforcing legislation naturalization expediently implementing voyage policies agendas regulations refine interdiction terrorism sectors tasked leveraging thorough visits exercise partnership Federal Trade Commission travel relative associated co-product absolve sense stability pursue validity,
