    Job Description for Low Voltage Technician

    Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot vehicle barrier systems. The successful candidate will work with gate operators, bollards, and other low voltage security devices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Installation and Configuration:

      • Install and configure vehicle barrier systems, including automatic gate operators and bollards.
      • Set up and program control panels and access control systems.
      • Evaluate proper integration with other security systems, such as CCTV and alarm systems.
    2. Maintenance and Repairs:

      • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicle barrier systems to ensure optimal performance.
      • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, control panels, and mechanical components.
      • Replace or upgrade parts and equipment as necessary to maintain system reliability.
    3. System Testing and Documentation:

      • Verify correct operation of installed systems by conducting thorough testing.
      • Maintain detailed records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
      • Provide detailed reports and recommendations for system improvements or upgrades.
    4. Customer Support and Training:

      • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients to provide excellent customer service.
      • Offer training and support to customers on the operation and maintenance of vehicle barrier systems.
      • Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.
    5. Safety and Compliance:

      • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations for a safe working environment.
      • Promote compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards during installations and repairs.
    6. Travel Requirements:

      • Be willing and able to travel frequently to various client sites for installation, maintenance, and support.
      • Some overnight stays may be required depending on project location.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics is preferred.
    • Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician, particularly with vehicle barrier systems.
    • Familiarity with control panels, access control systems, and integration with other security technologies.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

    Physical Demands:

    • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
    • Ability to climb ladders and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
