    I.Minimum Qualifications:
    Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
    Experience/Ability:
    a. One year of custodial or related work experience.
    b. Must pass pre-employment and routine criminal background check, drug screen & physical.
    c. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    d. Ability to work with other staff and program volunteers
    e. Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with others
    f. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
    g. Ability to use mechanical cleaning machines, such as carpet cleaners, floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, tools, washers, and dryers.
    h. Ability to use and knowledge of various chemicals and cleaning agents.
    i. Ability to perform routine laundry and cleaning duties.
    j. Must have scheduling flexibility to be available to perform duties at occasional after-hours events and/or emergency services outside of assigned work hours.

    II.Specific Responsibilities:
    a. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the assigned facility and grounds as outlined in EOAC policy.
    b. Routine duties include but are not limited to laundry of infant/toddler bedding and curriculum supplies, vacuuming all carpeted areas, mopping and sanitizing hallways, classrooms, and bathroom floors, buffing floors per schedule, cleaning and sanitizing adult and child restrooms, including toilets and sinks, removing soiled diapers from infant/toddler and classrooms, disposal of classroom trash bags in facility dumpster, picking up trash from playground and cleaning facility entry-way.
    c. Use cleaning chemicals and other cleaning supplies while dusting, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, and cleaning restrooms per product safety standards.
    d. Keep bathrooms and classrooms stocked with designated paper and cleaning supplies.
    e. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Requisition items from the supervisor promptly.
    f. Complete minor maintenance duties for the facility as needed or requested by the supervisor.
    g. Assist nutrition staff with meal delivery and removal from classrooms, as needed.
    h. Respond to emergency situations such as drains backing up, plugged toilets, water floods, toilet/sink leaks, etc., per EOAC policy.
    i. Complete required training as assigned, including First Aid/CPR.

    III.Work Environment
    a. This job primarily operates in an indoor and outdoor childcare center environment with ambient lighting, climate control, and various weather conditions outdoors.
    b. The employee will work in an environment with exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals. Exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise, and low or intense illumination. Occasional exposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, etc.).
    c. This role uses standard and mid-level cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, washers/dryers, scrubbers, and buffers.

    IV.Physical Demands
    a. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
    b. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel, lift, twist, scrub, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must have a full range of physical motion to operate manual and electric cleaning machines properly.
    c. The employee will lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. daily to load and transport trash, and bulk supplies, operate cleaning machines, move furniture, etc., and occasionally lift over 70 lbs. with assistance.

    V.Other Duties: Perform all other duties as deemed necessary.
