- Manage all aspects of accounts payable processes for the assigned project.
- Manage all aspects of invoice generation and accounts receivable processes for the assigned project.
- Manage all aspects of contract compliance to include certified payroll documentation, lien waivers, vendor payment certifications, workforce reporting requirements, and COBID utilization reporting.
- Monitor project financial performance in the context of construction and report variances.
- Conduct financial analysis specific to construction projects and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations relevant to the project contract.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide reports and analysis of incurred cost, billings, and other ad hoc financial information.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports for the construction project stakeholders.
- Assist with audit preparation specific to the construction project and support external audits.
- Participate in financial meetings and discussions related to the project to provide insights and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business preferred, or 10 years related field experience.
- Proven experience managing AP and AR staff accounting teams.
- Hands on managerial experience creating lump sum, unit rate, and T&M based billings for large scale construction projects.
- Hands on managerial experience processing AP invoices, managing vendor relations, and confirming contract compliance.
- Proven construction sector experience as a Project Accountant or Financial Analyst.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices in the context of construction.
- Proficiency in enterprise accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with stakeholders in the construction industry.

Description
MWH Constructors, an industry leader in the heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is currently seeking a Project Accounting Manager to support the construction of a Water Treatment Plant located in Portland, OR. This project will be the first of its kind in Portland, scheduled to break ground in Summer of 2024 and ultimately supplying 135 million gallons of water a day to the Portland community by Fall of 2028. This position is a great opportunity to be a part of a historic infrastructure and filtration project and see it through the entire project delivery life cycle, from groundbreaking to closeout.The ideal candidate will have specific accounting experience with general contracting on large scale construction projects. The Project Accounting Manager will be responsible for management of subcontractor and vendor contracts, accounts payable processes, accounts receivable processes, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and the contract specifications.
