    Senior Project Manager

    8 Month Contract (Strong possibility for extension)

    Location: Jacksonville, FL (Requires 2 days a week onsite, hybrid remote options)

    Brooksource is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to support our Fortune 500 client: a leading rail-based freight transportation and logistics company in North America. This individual will be the Project Manager and main driver of an enterprise-wide exit of the mainframe IT initiative. This individual will sit within the PMO and be attached to proper IT governance practices.     Primary Activities and Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and track the project activities for initiatives of supported customer groups in compliance with IT enterprise and the Program Management Office (PMO) standards.
    • Manage small, medium, and large projects related to exiting the mainframe.
    • Assist in planning and organizing resources from across all Technology areas along with the Business to achieve Project objectives.
    • Establish procedures and processes for project activities.
    • Create monitor and maintain projects in project management software including managing project plan tasking, assignments, and testing coordination.
    • Assist with guiding the team through all phases of the project life cycle.
    • Coordinate the activities of the project team with other departments, business partners, and vendors.
    • Ensure adherence to enterprise standards and review project deliverables.
    • Responsibilities include budget compliance, maintaining risk/issues list and priorities, and conducting regular status/support meetings with stakeholders.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • 10+ years of prior experience in leading IT projects
    • Knowledge of project management methods – agile, waterfall, hybrid
    • Ideally direct end to end support of a major mainframe migration to a cloud environment is preferred, but cloud specific migration support is a preferred at least
    • Excellent oral and written communications, interpersonal, negotiation, project planning, judgment, leadership, decision-making, analysis, and problem-solving skills
    • Detail oriented, self-starter, motivated professional.
    • Collaborative/influential interpersonal skills; ability to lead without authority
    • Expert-level skills in facilitating meetings, managing client relationships, and keeping teams, managers, and customers apprised of status, changes, resolutions, and successes
    • Microsoft Office skills (including Microsoft Project and Excel)
    • Project management software skills; preferred – MS Project, CA Clarity, Smartsheets, or other PPM
    • Technical familiarity with cloud migrations.
    • Technical familiarity with mainframe strongly preferred.
    • Experience analyzing, designing, and implementing technology solutions
    • Reporting and Analytics – Level of expertise with advanced Excel functions (Lookups, charting/graphing, or PowerBI and analytics)
