- Maintain administrative tasks consistently, including rate and billing updates.
- Proficiently process complex bills within specified timeframes.
- Ensure billing accuracy and completeness according to client specifications.
- Manage a high volume of monthly bills.
- Review and modify proformas as per attorney and assistant requests.
- Allocate retainer funds under attorney direction.
- Generate billing reports and spreadsheets as needed.
- Understand and apply Exception rates, Discounts, Multipayor, and Electronic Billing.
- Efficiently communicate and interact with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients.
- Validate billing accuracy and furnish necessary documentation.
- Investigate and address inquiries concerning billing matters.
- Contribute to the training and guidance of new staff and less experienced billers.
- Support annual rate maintenance and assist with month-end close processes
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- 5+ years billing experience in a legal environment preferred
- Discreet handling of confidential information with professionalism.
- Effective prioritization and multitasking in a dynamic environment.
- Timely completion of tasks, efficient time management and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously with initiative.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated capability to manage complex billing arrangements with a focus on quality and client service.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
