Job Responsibilities

The Sander Operator will play a crucial role by sanding all flooring properly within specifications and ensuring a quality finish is applied. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining the sander's efficiency and performance.

Key Job Duties

Maintain good attendance records.
Complete routine maintenance of the sander and schedule additional maintenance as required.
Evaluate and verify flooring specifications, documenting any data accordingly.
Ensure all counters are functioning properly and keep accurate records.
Change sanding paper as needed to maintain optimal performance.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
Achieve daily production numbers and run footage requirements.
Utilize calipers and mics effectively.
Operate and maintain multiple pieces of equipment, with a willingness to learn new systems.
Practice safe work habits and effective communication with coworkers.

Requirements

General knowledge of the sander and its operation.
Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks correctly and efficiently.
Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing, active listening, and following instructions.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
Proficient computer skills.

Work Environment

The Sander Operator will work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, frequently exposed to moderate noise levels (up to 83 decibels), moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat and vibration. Regularly, they will need to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds, walk, stand, stretch, bend, climb, stoop, twist, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive movements.
