Packaging Engineer-- SANDC5699017 - El Segundo - Compunnel Inc.

Description

Client is seeking a Temp Packaging Engineer to join the Consumer Products Division Operations packaging team in El Segundo. This role provides hands-on exposure to packaging development, testing, and sustainability initiatives. The Packaging Engineer will support daily operations, contribute to sustainability projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging excellence from concept to launch.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and set up test requests for new materials and components; evaluate test reports.
• Coordinate Greenpoint data requests and ensure accurate documentation for transfers.
• Perform project data cleanup; maintain project files and LIMS/PLM inputs.
• Support sustainability initiatives, including recyclability checks and L4TF data collection.
• Collaborate with R&I, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to follow up on action items and support project implementation.
• Assist in diverse project work, including data gathering, documentation, and follow-ups.
• Actively participate in packaging development steps, from conception to implementation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently pursuing or recently completed degree in Packaging, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent).
• Entry-level experience (0–1 year) in technical support or academic project work.
• Business-level English proficiency.
• Strong organizational skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
