The Bid/ Proposal role of the Estimator consists of the following:
Download bid documents
Prepare and maintain list of documents
Maintain project files consistent with current Protocol
Review bid submission forms and advise special requirements (bond, insurance, MWBE requirements, etc.)
Collaborate with Preconstruction team as required (safety, logistics, phasing, etc)
Maintain communication with designers and record feedback as necessary (including RFI's and Addenda)
Attend pre-bid meetings as required
Review scope of work and develop subcontractor/ vendor list
Solicit Sub/ vendor quotes and follow up
Complete electronic quantity takeoffs, and develop estimate and unit pricing
Develop rough construction schedule
Review estimate with Chief Estimator
Receive sub/ vendor quotes, level to estimated scope
Finalize cost using low qualified sub/ vendors
Finalize and submit bid/ proposal response
The Win Project role of the Estimator consists of the following
Respond to post bid questions
Prepare cost savings suggestions as required
Attend post bid meetings as required
Perform detailed scope reviews and negotiate best and final costs with qualified subs/ vendors
Write Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
Maintain buyout record
Prepare files and documents necessary to ensure a smooth transition to Operations
Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science/ Management preferred
College degree and experience in commercial construction working for a GC
Proven track record of effective people management
High attention to detail regarding project organization
Career oriented individual who wants to progress further in their career and take on additional responsibility
Proficient use of MS products (Word, Excel, Outlook , etc.)
