    Description

    Overview

    Kimley-Horn is in search of a Water/Wastewater Practice Builder for their Warrenville, IL office. This role involves developing a growth vision for the local water practice, leading business development efforts, and managing key client relationships. The Practice Builder will handle business planning, strategy, client relationships, and overall direction of the utilities practice, with autonomy and support in various areas like accounting, marketing, and IT.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership responsibilities include:

    • Operating with integrity and sound business principles

    • Providing practice vision, business planning, and establishing goals

    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships

    • Open communication with partners and team, while growing and directing the water practice

    Management responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Establishing and cultivating client relationships

    • Making presentations

    • Writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets

    • Ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising work execution

    Qualifications

    The ideal background:

    • Minimum 12 years of experience in civil engineering and design, with 5 years managing utility water projects

    • Established client contacts with local municipalities, counties, and state agencies

    • Experience in writing proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets

    • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels

    • Proven ability to manage staff, resources, and water projects profitably
