    Description
    Client: Southwest Airlines

    Role: Java Technical Lead

    Location: Remote (main office is in Dallas, TX)

    Duration: 1 year open ended contract

    Project:
    • Will be joining an existing pod, their team lead left
    • Currently working on a Wheel & Break application in AWS, primarily using Java and
    • Will also support a few other custom Java applications (upgrades, support, etc)
    • Mostly leading/delegation, guiding architecture, providing feedback through code reviews
    • Ideally only 10-20% hands-on coding
    Must have:
    • Java
    • Deploying in AWS (serverless functions with Lamba)
    • Javascript
    • Leadership skills and qualities (not necessarily command and control, wants someone who is more of a servant leader and knows how to get people to work together)
    Nice to have:
    • Python
    • Spring
    • GitLab knowledge
    • Kafka
    • React

Not looking for Sr. or Lead Java Developers. Candidates that are Tech Leads with Java, and AWS will be the best fit for this role.

    Notes : Mostly remote, ideally wants them to be able to come into the office occasionally for PI planning or high-level meetings Will not rule out fully remote candidate
    Selling points for candidate :Looking for a Strong Technical Lead/Solution Architect that has good experience leading/managing teams for the past few years. Not looking for Sr. or Lead Java Developers. Candidates that are Tech Leads with Java, and AWS will be the best fit for this role.
